The method used to make industrial glass is called the float process. Ingredients for glass are stored in massive silos and then flung through chutes and tubes to the glass factory. They’re colored and mixed there too, prior to they’re sent into designed chutes that expand into the shapes we have come to love and recognize. Being able to watch the glass melt is like witnessing a tiny slides of lava, and I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to watch it continue to flow for the rest of your life. It is important to remember that the glass was created from natural materials. Next time you look through a glass, think about how it used to be!
